Canadian Food Funder Collaborative

Through the Community Foundations of Canada, J.W. McConnell Family Foundation and Tides Canada, a group of approximately 20 Canadian food funders are working together in a collaborative fashion to fund work within the food movement. The group has contracted Eco-Ethonomics Inc. to conduct a landscape assessment of food issues in Canada to better inform and align the funding efforts of the collaborative. The landscape assessment will focus on Canada’s existing food environment through social/cultural, economic, technology, political, research/education and natural resource/environmental dimensions. This information will help funders to develop a greater understanding of current initiatives and key potential drivers that will stimulate progress towards a more sustainable, resilient and equitable food system.
