Durham College – FastStart DC
Durham College’s FastStart program is seeking to develop a model for social entrepreneurship and social innovation in the form of a central hub or center on campus. FastStartDC is a co-curricular program designed to aid entrepreneurial students in launching their business ideas. In partnership with the ENACTUS program, Eco-Ethonomics was hired to aid in the research and development of this model. ENACTUS is a designation of the FastStart program that focuses on social innovation businesses such as non-profits and social enterprises. The first step of this project includes an environmental scan of other social entrepreneurship post-secondary programs, and the linkages between the two DC programs. Through co-design sessions, the faculty of other department’s programs will be engaged to help explore how the model can be integrated and multidisciplinary.
