Healthy Living Niagara

Over the course of several months the consultant team, worked with concession operators at three arenas across Niagara Region to customize a marketing strategy and implementation process for successfully introducing healthy food options into arena concession stands. The project involved developing a comprehensive toolkit for each site to track and monitor “point of sale” data for each site, as well as, outlining a the roles and responsibilities of the many stakeholders involved. Community partners for this project included, municipal staff, recreation managers, concession operators, Healthy Living Niagara staff, coaches, parents, sports associations and other. The ultimate goal of the Fuelling Healthy Bodies pilot project was to make healthy options available at selected snack bars, and ultimately, also make them the preferred choice of both children and their parents.
