Huron Anti-Poverty Initiative
In the summer and fall of 2013, Eco-Ethonomics Inc. and associates partnered to facilitate the development of an anti-poverity strategy with multiple stakeholders in Huron County. Participating agencies included, food banks, the County health unit, Huron-Perth United Way, the Rural Response for Healthy Children, among many others. The organizations participated in mapping community assets and identifying gaps in the County’s social support infrastructure with a view to further improving community level service coordination. Throughout the process, individuals with lived experience of poverty were engaged in providing feedback and informing decision making. The project was generously funded by Huron-Perth United Way.
