Niagara International Children’s Society
Eco-Ethonomics and associates, co-facilitated a full organizational development and business planning process with senior management and program staff. A complex educational, training and employment support model were developed into a human development plan to be integrated into the business. The plan included a self-employment stream which was designed to support women entering the decorative painting and restorative finishing trades.
North York Community House
Eco-Ethonomics facilitated a full business planning process for the organization’s catering social enterprise resulting in a completed business plan that won the Toronto Enterprise Fund business plan competition in 2011. Toronto Enterprise Fund
Eco-Ethonomics and associates co-facilitated workshops on social enterprise development on behalf of the Toronto Enterprise Fund in 2010. An integral part of these workshops was human development planning for the business models being developed which would allow employees to transition into the mainstream workforce after learning the essential skills they needed.
United Way of Peel Region
Eco-Ethonomics has provided strategic advice to the United Way on their investment strategy around social enterprise development in the Region of Peel. Eco-Ethonomics is a social enterprise consultant that is regularly referred by the United Way to organizations. Eco-Ethonomics was hired by the United Way to deliver workshops on Social Enterprise development.
Rural Social Enterprise Project
Eco-Ethonomics is one of three consulting firms that provided social enterprise development services for building social enterprise capacity in rural communities across Ontario. The project included regular presentations on social enterprise across four regions, followed by individual feasibility and business planning services provided to 50 organizations.
Youth Troopers for Global Awareness
Eco-Ethonomics worked with youth entrepreneurs to develop a business plan for a café business in the Mississauga area. This young and energetic group is committed to establishing a space for youth artistic expression housed in a fair trade coffee shop. Once established the idea would provide a venue for youth to showcase their talents while making statements on social just and human rights issues.
Milverton Agricultural Society
Eco-Ethonomics provided consulting to Milverton Agricultural Society’s board and senior staff to assist in developing the organizations model and improve its sustainability. The organization considered several social enterprise concepts, and through several conversations, decided on assessing the feasibility of one idea that showed promise. Preliminary steps were taken to coordinate a feasibility assessment process with volunteers.
Erin Agricultural Society
Eco-Ethonomics worked closely with three members of the Erin Agricultural Society’s board of directors to lead them through a feasibility process for their farmers market. Market research was conducted in their community, including interviews, an online survey and paper survey at their fall fair. Ultimately the group collected enough useful information to make a clear decision that their idea was feasible and moved into business planning.
Grey Bruce Sustainability Network
Eco-Ethonomics and associates designed and facilitated a full day planning workshop with the Grey Bruce Sustainability Network and its members. The workshop was delivered in a way that was interactive and engaging for current and potential members. Several key initiatives were identified through this process that the network’s leadership planned to take forward.
